Witnessing the rise of St. Louis native Ryan Trey has been a very pleasing journey to say the least. He first caught my attention with Eight 24- a project that's no longer on streaming platforms but makes me proudly stamp myself as an OG fan for noticing the rawness and vulnerable persona brewing in him from the very beginning. Shifting our focus to present day, he has not only grown in sound but has worked himself up to be an artist to watch in this new era of talent. Trey's latest body of work, "STREETS SAY YOU MISS ME" is an outstanding representation of his musical capabilities, growth and mission to remain transparent for listeners.

Balancing a mixture of Rap/R&B, Trey lays out experiences from previous relationships and glimpses into his rise to fame. Compiled of 13 expertly produced and well written tracks lasting just under 39 minutes, "STREETS SAY YOU MISS ME" is a layered project unveiling Trey's progressive artistry and quite frankly his ability to create quality music without having to conform to today's trends. Consciously or not, Trey moved away from the emphasis of creating songs for viral popularity and instead crafted a project with depth and expression, skillfully holding onto that intangible "it factor" that so many artists aspire to capture in their music.

With featured artists such as Vory, Mariah The Scientist, NoCap & Chase Shakur in Trey's corner, "STREETS SAY YOU MISS ME" is nothing short of a melodic masterpiece. There's tracks like "REDWING DRIVE" and "MORE THAN SORRY" that can control a room with their direct lyricism and others like "COVER GIRLS" that bring balance to the project due its highly addictive production.
As we edge closer to the end of 2023, it's only fair to assume that "STREETS SAY YOU MISS ME" serves as a preview into the pipeline for what Trey has planned for the upcoming year, & judging by the sound of it any level of anticipation will be worth all the hype.
